Equipment and maintenance go hand-in
hand. While much of the maintenance is
done in house, many pieces of gear including
the 24 in, 8 buss Soundcraft Series 600
Console have been customized by Jim
Williams of Audio Upgrades.
Carefully selected devices from: Neuman,
AKG, DBX, Lexicon, Sennheiser, Sure, EV,
Klark Teknik, Aphex, DigiDesign, and
Apogee. Key software selection for the Mac
and PC based DAWs is another area where
Mirror Sound’s experience shines. (see list

Equipment and Maintenance
Drum Room-Main Stage
In 1998, this “Room Within A Room Design” was
conceived by Adam Kessler/Eden Engineering (Ft
Lauderdale, FL), with acoustical consultation from
George Halloway at Studio Pacifica (Seattle, WA)
Further modifications were suggested by room-tuner
Bob Hodas. Note: Favorable sight lines and non-
parallel walls. construction.
Center Stage
Directly behind the glass is a multi-purpose room we
call Center Stage. It’s use is primarily guitars, miked
and acoustic and some vocals. The convenience of
being right through the glass of the Control Room
make for a fluent work-flow.
Iso-Booth
Studio’s historically depend on an Isolation booth
for a vocal or instrument (violin) that needs to be
heard while tracking, yet isn’t intended to be the
final keeper track. It’s interesting how often the
“Scratch” track becomes the final keeper track.
Control Room
A large comfortable Control Room with good sight-
lines was a necessity. Multiple video displays around
the room help everyone stay connected with the
engineer’s work with the DAW.
